I decided to make my poster for a made up music festival called Surf's Up. The color palette I used had the perfect colors to make a tropical beach to match the theme and location of the festival. I used 2 separate fonts. One for the festival name and the other font for everything else. The fonts are both rounded with the one for the festival name being more stylized. The roundedness of the fonts help the words fit in with the roundedness of the trees, sand, wave, music notes, and guitar. The words use the 

Final Calligram   Second Draft First Draft I wrote a letter to my self in 20 years and then applied it to a portrait of me in the form of a calligram.  For the calligram, I used a more rounded font, Modak, found in the Adobe Illustrator font library. I used this font because it is rounded in the same way that my face is rounded. I used the letter to my future self as the outlines for my face and shirt. I used the ending of the last sentence (Colin make our dreams come true) to fill in my hair, face, and shirt. In the first draft, my eyes, nose, and mouth are a solid shape rather than words. I originally did this because I thought it blends in better with the rest of the picture as I used a big solid word for my forehead, hair, chin, and cheeks. In the second draft I changed the solid eyes, nose, and mouth into words from the letter to my future self. For the final draft I changed the colors. I have interests in many forms of media. The main interests are video, photo, and music. I chose to make a business that specializes in multi-media services. I decided to name it Colin White Media. This Is the final design for the logo. It focuses on the letter C (for Colin) and a play button in the center (for media) The play button and C form a W (for white) in the negative space. I asked an AI to create a logo for my company. I prompted it with 4 words that fit my company: Video, Photo, Music, and Media. The AI gave me this logo for Media.  After getting the AI image into Illustrator, I vectorized the image. I then flipped the image around and realized that it looked like I could create the letter W inside of it.  I carved out the letter W and made the shape look like the letter C. Hi, my name is Colin White. I'm from Seminole, FL. I am double majoring in Film and Music Technology. Throughout high school, I took a video production class and won a few contests. Film has always been something I liked doing as it allows me to be creative. I play bass in a local band that has played at many venues. We even won a Battle of the Bands in the spring. I have been in boy scouts all through high school and achieved the rank of Eagle scout this past winter. I have many outdoor and leadership skills that can come in handy later in life. I have always been very interested in both film and music and have always been a very creative minded person. I always come up with different ideas that others may not think of. I like all kinds of music and movies but action films and rock music are my favorites. This class sounds like it will be a lot of fun. I will get to learn lots about technology and its uses in art. I am looking forward to the rest of my first semester at UT.
